Doug Phenix is the President and Founder of Emergent Insurance Solutions, LLC—a respected agency built on the strength of 38 years of passionate, hands-on experience in the insurance industry. A third-generation Houstonian and proud graduate of the University of Houston with a BA in Business Communications, Doug furthered his education through post-graduate studies at Rice University and earned professional designations including CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), and CRM (Certified Risk Manager) from The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.

Prior to founding Emergent, Doug gained invaluable entrepreneurial experience as the founder of one of Houston’s most successful office supply, printing, and office furniture companies. That venture taught him the true meaning of resilience and leadership—lessons learned from long weeks, lean margins, and the ultimate responsibility of making payroll from his own pocket.
